Client Relationship Manager
T. Richard ("Dick") Bale joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 2003 with 46 years of experience
in the investment securities business. He has held management positions throughout the investment
community in Seattle, most recently as Senior Vice President of Investments at U.S. Bancorp Piper
Jaffray. Dick is well known for promoting new ways to meet clients changing investment needs, including
a team approach to investment management.
As a life-long resident of the Seattle area, Dick has been involved with a number of boards and charitable
organizations including the YMCA Foundation and The Rotary Club of Seattle, of which he was a member for
over 30 years. He is currently a board member of The First Tee. The First Tee is an initiative of the
World Golf Foundation that provides young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through
golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship.
Dick received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration from the University of Washington.
He resides in Seattle with his wife, and he has three children and five grandchildren. Dick has long been
active in many athletic activities including track & field, squash, skiing, tennis, mountaineering, and golf.

Investment Advisor
J. Kevin Callaghan joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 1983, after graduating from the University of Puget Sound
where he majored in economics and finance. Kevin is Chairman of Badgley, Phelps and Bell. He has extensive portfolio
management experience working with estates, trusts, family partnerships, and other topics relating to wealth management
in a complex taxable environment.
Kevin is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Museum of Flight and also serves on the Chairmans Council of
Conservation International. Kevin serves as a trustee for Broadway Bound Childrens Theatre, as well as several
charitable foundations including the John Graham Foundation and the Bishop Eye Research Foundation. He is a past
trustee of ACT Theatre and a past board member of the Overlake School, Bertschi School and University Prep. Kevin
is a native of Seattle where he resides with his wife and three children.

Member, Consistent Growth and Int'l Investment Teams
Mitzi W. Carletti is an investment advisor with Badgley, Phelps and Bell. In addition, she is a member of the firms
Consistent Growth and International Investment Teams, and is a member of the firms Research Team. Mitzi joined the firm in 1995.
During seven years at the Frank Russell Company as a senior research analyst, Mitzi researched, monitored, and
evaluated international money managers and developed client strategies and recommendations. Mitzi entered the
securities business in 1979 with Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, working on the options floor of the Pacific
Stock Exchange and in stock lending. She later served as a financial consultant with their Seattle office.
Mitzi was a regular guest on the KCTS public television series Serious Money and has published a number
of investment-related articles that have appeared in a variety of publications, including the Journal of
Portfolio Management.
Mitzi is currently the fundraising chairperson for the Puget Sound Blood Center 2008 Faces for Life and the
alumni class representative, University of Puget Sound. In the past she served on the Alumni Board at the
University of Puget Sound and chaired the universitys Annual Fund and Student Activities Committees.
Additionally, Mitzi has served as a Finance Committee member for Treehouse and for the Alliance for Education,
a Site Council and board member of the PTA and Annual Fund Co-Chair for a local Seattle public school,
a board member for the Seattle Youth Symphony, and Trustee and Chair for the Puget Sound Blood Center.
Mitzi graduated with honors from the University of Puget Sound. She is a Northwest native and resides in
Seattle with her husband and two sons.

Michael R. Gerke joined the firm as an investment advisor in 2001 and is part of our Research Team. Mike is also
a member of the firms Relative Value Investment Team. He brings to Badgley, Phelps and Bell over 20 years of
experience in market analysis and portfolio management. Prior to joining our firm, Mike was an investment advisor
at Bank of America, working with institutional and private clients. While at Bank of America, Mike was a member
of the Northwest Region Equity Strategy Committee which guided the equity investment process for all private client
and institutional accounts.
Mike earned a bachelor of arts degree with an emphasis in marketing and finance from the University of Washington,
and a master of science degree in finance from Seattle University. He is a member of the CFA Society of Seattle
and the CFA Institute and has participated in their program for the Chartered Financial
Analyst® (CFA®) designation. Mike is a board member and finance committee chair of
New Beginnings, a shelter and support service for abused women and children. Mike is a native of Seattle where he
resides with his wife and two children.

Investment Advisor
Clare M. Hansen is an investment advisor with Badgley, Phelps and Bell. She specializes in managing the assets of
high net-worth private clients and families, and has extensive experience in the management of taxable portfolios
and estates. Clare joined the firm in 1990 as head of the Equity and Fixed Income Trading Department. She began
her investment career in 1983 with the Wall Street brokerage firm of Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc.
Clare serves on the Board of Governors of the Investment Adviser Association and also participates as a member of
their Finance Committee. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the CFA Institute, and the CFA
Society of Seattle. She is also active in the Denny Creek Neighborhood Alliance. Clare is the past chair of the
University of Washington Estate and Gift Planning Council, a past ex-officio member of the University of Washington
Foundation Board, and a past member of the Washington Planned Giving Counsol.
Clare is a native of Tacoma and graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts degree.
She has a college-age daughter and resides in the Seattle area.

Elizabeth A. Marcoux, ChFC®, joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 1999 as an investment advisor. She has extensive
experience managing assets for private clients, pension funds, foundations and endowments, and she now specializes in serving the
unique portfolio management needs of high net-worth individuals and families. Elizabeth is a member of the firms Relative Value
Investment Team and the Research Team.
Elizabeth is a Chartered Financial Consultant™ with over 20 years of investment management experience, including
six years at Bank of America where she managed portfolios for private clients and not-for-profit entities. Her career also includes
five years as a manager of trust investments for The Boeing Company Pension and Profit Sharing Plan, plus five years in relationship
management for pension, profit sharing, foundation and endowment funds at Chase Manhattan Bank and Hartford National Bank. Elizabeth
graduated from Smith College with a bachelor of arts degree.
Elizabeth serves as a member of the Planned Giving Council for the Nature Conservancy, treasurer of the Smith College Club of Seattle,
and as a member of Seattle Tilth Natural Soil Builders. Previously, Elizabeth served 13 years on the Investment Committee of the YMCA
of Greater Seattle and the YMCAs Finance Committee for seven years. Additionally, she is a past-member of the Estate and Gift Planning
Council at the University of Washington. Elizabeth and her husband reside in Seattle.

Ross W. Ohashi, CFA, ChFC®, CIC, joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell as an investment advisor in 2001. He has been
in the investment management industry since 1981. Ross is a member of the Consistent Growth Investment Team and the firms
Research Team. Prior to joining our firm, Ross worked at Bank of America, most recently as vice president, senior investment
advisor and chair of the Northwest Region Equity Strategy Committee, which guided the equity investment process for all
private client and institutional accounts. Previously, he also served as treasurer for the banks mutual fund company,
worked within their broker/dealer area, and spent several years as a private equity analyst.
Ross is a CFA® charter holder, and a Chartered Financial Consultant™. He is also a member
of the CFA Society of Seattle and the CFA Institute. Ross earned a bachelor of arts degree and a master of business
administration degree from the University of Washington. He has previously served as a trustee and treasurer for the Wing
Luke Asian Museum. Ross is a Seattle native and resides in Bellevue with his wife and two daughters.

Curtis L. Pepin joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 1999 and is the firm's Director of Marketing & Sales. Curtis manages
the sales and client service efforts of the firm's high net-worth and institutional separate accounts.
As Director of Marketing & Sales, Curtis concentrates his efforts marketing our firms services
to new private clients and their professional service advisors, including accountants and attorneys. The key institutional
investment intermediaries that Curtis works with include consultants, corporations, foundations, registered investment
advisors, wealth advisors, broker/dealers, and mutual fund supermarkets. His focus is on the cultivation of key strategic
relationships.
Curtis career has included positions with Colonial Mutual Funds, US Bancorp Investments, and Janus Mutual Funds. Most
recently, Curtis served as institutional sales representative with Berger Associates, Inc., of Denver, Colorado. Curtis
has considerable experience developing and maintaining relationships with large institutional investors who rely on his
in-depth understanding of the stock market and the financial services marketplace to guide them in critical decision-making
processes.
Curtis earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Denver. He resides in Bellevue with his wife
and two daughters.

Steven C. Phelps, CFA, CIC, is Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and a director of Badgley, Phelps and Bell.
He is a member of the firms Research Team and of the Consistent Growth and International Investment Teams. Steve joined
Badgley, Phelps, and Bell in 1987 as an investment advisor and is a CFA® charter holder and a Chartered
Investment Counselor.
Steve is President of the Board of Trustees of the Seattle Opera, and is a past Trustee of Epiphany School and the
Henry Art Gallery. In addition, he is a past member of the Schwab Institutional Advisory Board, past Chairman of the
University of Washington Estate Planning Board, and a past Director of the University of Washington Foundation Board.
He is also a past Director of the Washington Policy Center and Custom Industries. Steve is a guest lecturer at the
University of Washingtons Department of Economics where he leads a senior level course on stock market valuation and
securities analysis. He is also a member of Opera America, the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Seattle.
Upon graduating from Williams College with a degree in political economy, Steve was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship
at the University of Frankfurt, Germany, to conduct research on policy issues relating to international monetary coordination.
In 1984, he joined PACCAR, Inc. as an analyst in the treasury department of its finance subsidiary and as an independent
researcher in the field of transportation economics. Steve is a native of Seattle where he resides with his
wife and four children.

Patrick D. Rodgers is an investment advisor at Badgley, Phelps and Bell, managing portfolios for both institutional and
high net-worth private clients. He is also a member of our firms Research Team. Patrick joined the firm in 1998.
Prior to joining Badgley, Phelps and Bell, Patrick worked at two local investment management firms. Patrick earned
a bachelor of arts degree in political science at the University of Washington. He is a member of the CFA Institute
and the CFA Society of Seattle. Patrick is a native of Seattle where he resides with his wife.

Julie Parisio Roy joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 2004 as an investment advisor and manages portfolios for both
institutional and high net-worth private clients. She is also a member of our firms Research Team.
Julie began her career in the investment advisory industry in 1997 working as an investment advisor with Pacific
Capital Consulting and later with Smith Barney where she earned their Financial Planning Specialist designation.
At these firms, Julies responsibilities included portfolio management, financial planning, client relationship
management and new client development.
Julie is a CFA® charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
She graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts degree in economics. She is an active
member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Seattle and the Financial Planning Association. Julie is a
member of the Boeing Tennis Club, a youth group volunteer at her church and a member of the Parish Council.
A native of Washington State, Julie resides in Auburn with her husband and daughter.

Michael J. Schultz joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 2003 as an investment advisor and has approximately 20 years of experience
in portfolio management and financial services. He is a member of the firms Relative Value and International Investment Teams
as well as our Research Team.
Mikes professional background includes extensive experience working with individuals and institutions to develop and maintain
custom-tailored investment plans. He has managed assets for private capital, IRA, trust, foundation, endowment, and corporate
accounts. Prior to joining Badgley, Phelps and Bell, Mike served as Vice President and investment advisor in the Private
Advisory Services area of Bank of America. His role at Bank of America included serving as a member of the Northwest Region
Equity Strategy Committee which guided the equity investment process for all private client and institutional accounts.
Mike earned his bachelor of arts degree in accounting and business administration from Whitworth University and obtained his
Chartered Financial Consultant™ accreditation (ChFC®) through The American College. He is
active in the Shoreline/South County Family YMCA as a member of the Board of Managers, the Executive Committee, the Finance
Committee and the South County Capital Campaign Committee. Mike has also volunteered as a coach for youth basketball and
baseball teams. A native of Washington State, Mike resides in Edmonds with his wife and two sons.

Calvin M. Spranger, CFA, CIC, is a fixed income investment advisor and trader at Badgley, Phelps and Bell. Cal joined
Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 2000 and oversees the management and trading of fixed income securities for both private and
institutional clients. He is also a member of the firms Research Team. Cal is a CFA® charter holder
and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Seattle.
Prior to joining Badgley, Phelps and Bell, Cal was employed in both the Seattle and Minneapolis offices of Dain Rauscher
Corporation. As a member of Dain Rauscher's Fixed Income Sales group, he focused on institutional sales. Cals experience
also includes positions with Olde Discount Corporation and Merrill Lynch.
Cal earned his bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He resides in Seattle
with his wife and two sons.

Tim joined Badgley, Phelps and Bell in 2008 as an investment advisor with 12 years of experience in portfolio
management and financial services. He is a member of the firms Research Team.
Tim comes to BP&B from Threshold Group where he provided investment advisory services to private clients.
Prior to his tenure at Threshold Group, he was a portfolio manager at Bank of America in Seattle.
Tims expertise is focused in security analysis and selection, portfolio construction, asset allocation,
alternative investments, trading and risk management. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the
CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Seattle.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Ohio. He also holds an MBA, with a concentration
in finance and economics, from the University of Washington. Tim lives on Bainbridge Island with his wife.
