“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”

A longtime member of the Badgley Phelps team, Mitzi views her work as a research analyst as more of an integral part of her position as wealth manager rather than a separate role. She’s responsible for researching, selecting and monitoring securities held in clients’ portfolios—and also for sitting across the table from them to see how her stock selections may have impacted their lives.

“You must be passionate about what you do to be truly good at what you do.”

Prior to joining Badgley Phelps in 1995, Mitzi was a senior research analyst at Russell Investments, where she researched, monitored and evaluated international money managers and developed client strategies. She entered the securities business in 1979 with Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, working on the options floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange, in stock lending and later as a consultant in their Seattle office.

An avid traveler who enjoys hiking, skiing or reading just about anywhere in the world, Mitzi has been a regular guest on the KCTS public television series “Serious Money” and has published a number of investment-related articles that have appeared in a variety of publications, including The Journal of Portfolio Management.

Mitzi’s bucket list includes a trip to Antarctica and breaking bread with Christiane Amanpour or Warren Buffett. People may be surprised to discover that she has completed the New York City Marathon and plays the cello. A Northwest native, Mitzi resides in Seattle with her husband and has two grown sons.
